The Wandering Whale offers a unique stay in a piece of Victorian history.

With a communal kitchen, games room, cozy lounge, open fireplace, and a relaxing alfresco area with hammocks, there are plenty of spaces to either meet new people or enjoy some quiet time alone.

Private Rooms

Our private rooms are located in the original main house and are available with ensuite or shared bathroom facilities.

Dormitory Rooms

Located in our historic stables our mixed gender dormitory sleeps 10. We also offer a female only dormitory.

Family & Group Rooms

Our family or group rooms are located adjacent to the main house in outdoor lawn area and are available with ensuite or shared bathroom facilities.

It's fascinating to stay in a property with history such as this. Port Fairy itself is very tranquil with enough to do. East beach is idyllic, in that the water doesn't go above 4 feet for most of the bay. Jess and Laurene are phenomenal, both exceptionally friendly and really work hard to make the space clean, welcoming and comfortable.
